Today we are so pleased to welcome back Ali of Metal Dove, who will join us at our Worthing Fair on Sunday 7th December.

Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hi there, I am Ali, the maker behind Metal Dove. Metal Dove is an eco-conscious jewellery brand and a one stop shop for nature and animal lover gifts.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I have x 2 main collections. I make fun animal silhouette jewellery in hammered brass and recycled silver and have an elegant botanical range of silver necklaces and earrings. The botanical pieces are made using moulds of real leaves and flowers taken from my nature walks around Sussex and fired into solid silver pieces using metal clay. It’s 100% recycled fine silver.

What do you enjoy most about your work?
Custom requests and helping create a dream piece for a client. I also enjoy the mindfulness of the making itself, it’s my happy place. Fairs are super fun and meeting new customer’s and regular clients during the festive period is always such a boost. Sharing my love for nature in person is a day well spent and hanging out with my fellow sellers really brings a sense of creative community which I love.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas on Sunday 7th December at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Coming to this fair is a highlight of my festive calendar. The love for all things handmade is very strong in Worthing and the atmosphere at the Charmandean is super festive and fun, it always gets me excited for Christmas and it’s such a family event so thank you for having me, I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll be bringing my new ghost and octopus bangles and some statement earrings in silver and brass this year.

Do you have a best seller?
At the moment it’s my little ghost and dinosaur necklaces. Ghosts are not just for Halloween and it’s my mission to get a t rex necklace in every household!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I’m always full of plans. This year it was to get my work in some shops and that has been achieved so next year it’s building on that and maybe branching out to London for customers and expand my online range. I tend to make one off botanical pieces for markets and they sell too quick to go online so that has to be a good sign!

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Not really, it’s been a tough year for the world so just enjoy hanging out with the people you love and be kind to each other.
Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
Saw, snack, snooze! (that’s jewellery related……my life is not a horror movie)
How can we find out more about you?
