Say Hello To…Big Bead Boutique

Brighton, craft, Embroidered, Fairy Tale, Fashion, Hand Crafted, Jewellery, VintageNo commentsJuly 31, 2012Claire

Our latest Say Hello To post is with the lovely Big Bead Boutique. We are so excited to have them at our fair and for them taking time out of their busy schedule to be part of it!

“When I opened my shop last year it really was a dream come true and I have loved every moment. I feel very lucky to spend my working days in such an inspiring place.”- Big Bead Boutique

Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

I have been a fashion retail manager for 15yrs and opened my 10yr dream of my own beautiful bead/wedding shop last year. I make handmade wedding accessories and jewellery. I am very interested in current fashion trends and I think this reflects in my designs I’m also a big fan of anything old and love the vintage revival that is happening at the moment.

How would you describe your style?

Very feminine, reflects current trends and with a vintage twist..

How long have you been making your craft items?
12yrs

Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?

In the wedding I would say its the birdcage nett headdresses, and in the beads its all my vintage style charms and my Skulls.

What do you enjoy most about your craft?

Finding interesting products to incorporate in my designs. Working with my brides to create a beautiful headdress for a bespoke piece and hopefully fulfilling thier dreams and making thier day extra special.

Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?

Yes I have held an Artist Open house and get out and about to promote the shop as much as possible.

What products/ items will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?

A selection of beads, handmade jewellery and the children will be able to make a bracelet for a small charge.

What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?

For the boutique to be ever evolving with its products, services and activitys ie…( birthday and hen parties plus workshops.)

Any other comments you wish to make:

When I opened my shop last year it really was a dream come true and I have loved every moment. I feel very lucky to spend my working days in such an inspiring place.

We can’t wait to rummage through all the beautiful beads at the fair! And children will have great fun making jewellery!
