Well it’s only two weeks today until The Fairy Tale Fair! Today we introduce to you Candy Queens- who make magical themed candy floss! We can’t wait to welcome them to the fair! Read about the sparkly yumminess below…

Tell us a bit about Candy Queens and how it started….
The idea for Candy Queens developed organically from a number of things – my love of dressing up, meeting people, the need to be self employed,wanting to have fun whilst earning money, and determination really.
How long has Candy Queens been together?
It took about a year from the first seed of an idea to trialling it at the first Playgroup festival to actually buying a machine and making it happen. We’ve been flossing now for 18 months and cant believe how populare it’s been!
What do you enjoy most about Candy Queens?
I enjoy the autonomy of being my own boss, being able to invent new ways of having fun, dressing up, the big smiles on peoples faces when you hand them an amazing glittery blue candy floss, meeting people, making people happy, it all sounds like a cliche but i made it happen because its what I want, and I refused to sell my life to someone else, and see my days slip away by working in an office. I tried that.
Do you take part in other events?
Yes, we will attend any event that looks like fun, and of course will earn money, from corporate to charity, to festivals and weddings. This year we’ve already flossed at the official afterparty to the Brit awards, nightclub launches, Secret Garden Party, office parties, kids events, Glynde village fair, local Brighton fetes….we’ve just been booked for the Zombie walk afterparty in October.
What flavours/ toppings of candy floss will be available at the fair?
At the Fairytale Fair we will have delicious pink Vanilla, blue raspberry, banana and possibly coconut, with edible glitter topping – sparkly! As some of our Queens will be flossing at a wedding that day we are dividing our forces so only 1 Queen will be in attendance.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
