A Festive treat from…Mayflower Events

Brighton, Cake, Fairy Tale, Made Us Smile, VintageNo commentsNovember 3, 2012FTFadmin

Today we introduce to you a special post featuring Mayflower Events, who will be in charge of our vintage tearoom and baking wonderful festive treats! Mayflower Events are a vintage china hire and wedding events company who attended our last fair. They were extremely popular with our visitors and we can’t wait to welcome them back. This time they will have an actual vintage tearoom area where visitors can sit and enjoy yummy cake, tea in vintage china and it will be decorated magically!

Cupcakes at our last fair

We love combining excellent quality ingredients to produce something that looks and tastes wonderful….There is something special about serving people a good cup of tea and a slice of cake and seeing them relax and enjoy a little break. –  Lucy, Mayflower Events

Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….

Mayflower Events is a local company that specializes in baking delicious cakes, brownies, biscuits and other sweet treats for tea rooms and other events. We also have a fabulous selection of beautiful vintage china, so our cakes are served on pretty vintage cake plates and our tea is served in dainty tea cups and saucers. Our tea rooms are decorated with vintage style bunting, vintage linen and lace table cloths and stunning vintage cake stands.

How long has it been since Mayflower Events was founded?

Mayflower Events has officially been serving cakes to happy customers for just over two years now, but the team behind Mayflower Events has been baking for many more years for friends and family.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Mayflower?

We love combining excellent quality ingredients to produce something that looks and tastes wonderful. All of our cakes are homemade and one of the best bits of our job is sitting down and deciding what selection of cakes to bake for an event – usually a mix of some of the favorite classics like rich chocolate cake and lemon drizzle and then some more unusual combinations like our fabulous peanut butter cake or our gorgeous white chocolate & raspberry.
There is something special about serving people a good cup of tea and a slice of cake and seeing them relax and enjoy a little break.

What festive treats will you be selling on the day of The Fairy Tale Fair?

We have so many wonderful things planned for The Fairy Tale Fair – we will be serving Christmas cookies, Christmas decorated cupcakes, some biscuits that can go be hung on the Christmas tree (if they last that long!), homemade mince pies and much more including miniature gingerbread houses! The tea room will be decorated like a Christmas grotto with holly, Christmas baubles, bunting, fairy lights and tinsel.

Do you take part in other events or where else can we find you?

We take part in many lovely events throughout the year details can be found on our Facebook page or on our blog. We also cater for private events, such as weddings, corporate parties and birthdays – just take a look at our website www.mayflowerevents.co.uk for more information.

You took part in the last Fairy Tale Fair- did you enjoy the day and find that visitors liked your cakes?

The last Fairy Tale Fair was fabulous – the range and quality of craft stalls was outstanding and the fair was busy all day long with lots of customers from the moment the doors opened. The tea room was a huge success as people sat with friends and family to enjoy a cup of tea and slice of cake after browsing all the wonderful craft stalls. The double chocolate brownies and fresh strawberry & vanilla cupcakes sold out in record time and by the end of the day all of our beautiful cakes had gone!

Mayflower’s yummy cakes at the summer Fairy Tale Fair!

We can’t wait to try Mayflower’s delicious cakes again, they are certainly not to be missed! Find out more about Mayflower events via their sites…
