Hi Hannah, we’d love to know a little more about you and how The Pet Shed was founded?
When my local pet shop came up for sale I jokingly said that I should buy it, then I seriously considered it, but at the time could not raise the funds. Some time later, rather than buy the existing pet shop, I opened a new shop from scratch. I decided to apply my personal philosophy of eating natural food and buying sustainable products to the shop, so I stock natural dog foods and eco friendly pet toys and accessories.
What is the best thing about being owner of a pet shop?
All the puppies and bringing my dog – Bourbon – into work with me! Plus being my own boss and helping people get the right nutrition for their pets that is affordable but still good for them
Do you have a best selling product?
My best selling dog food is Canagan but I also sell a lot of Frozen raw food and poo bags!
We heard you are one of the Small Biz top 100 this year – how exciting! Do you have any plans to celebrate this?
I am so chuffed to be part of the Small Biz top 100 this year. To celebrate I am holding a special day on Saturday 29th October to celebrate all small businesses that I support within my shop. There will be freebies, a prize draw and lots of pets popping to for customers to meet. Come and see Sid the ferret and my bantam chickens to name a few!
Are you looking forward to the Christmas season and perhaps visiting The Fairy Tale Fair for a spot of local gift shopping?
I love Christmas and always stock lots of Christmas goodies for pets to enjoy. The Lilys Kitchen advent calendars are always a big hit and I sold out of reindeer ears and santa suits for dogs last year! I certainly hope to pop along and support the fair by buying lots of goodies from the stallholders.

I try to be active on all sorts of social media and often post giveaways and offers . My website is undergoing a review and I will be taking more online orders for local delivery.
