We came across these super sweet (literally) creations on trendhunter.com today. Somehow we had been unaware of the artwork of Japanese artist Osamu Watanabe until today! Well…we were in for a yummy looking treat…
His work is made up of pure candy sculptures and often uses whimsical subjects such as rabbits, deer, shoes and cake. The sculptures certainly look good enough to eat (although you wouldn’t, it’s too pretty to destroy)!
The article on tendhunter.com describes his work as:
There is also a book available, Sweet or Unsweet, which we might have to invest in!“Willy Wonka would definitely approve of this series, as it is succulency sweet. Watanabe has a way of turning any object into a mouth-watering dessert with a technique known as Kawaii. It is very predominant in Asia to find jewelry in the form of ice-cream sundaes and fondue, along with a plethora of accessories.”
What do you think of these deliously cute creations? We think they’d be great at our fair- or maybe our fair could travel to Japan one day!
