Please introduce yourself and Plus Accounting…
I’m Vicky King, Director of Marketing Services at Plus Accounting, a firm of Chartered Accountants based in Preston Park, Brighton.
We’re a team of over 50 people supporting businesses and individuals across Brighton, Sussex and beyond with their accounting, tax and financial needs.
Although accountancy might not immediately spring to mind when you think about creativity and community, we’re fortunate to work with some incredibly inspiring businesses, from independent creatives and small businesses to growing companies across the technology, hospitality and creative sectors.
We’re also a proud certified B Corporation, which means we’re committed to using business as a force for good, considering the impact we have on our people, clients, community and environment.
What’s the best thing about being part of the Plus team?
Definitely the people and the opportunity to be part of something that goes beyond the day-to-day work of an accountancy firm.
We have a fantastic team who genuinely care about the businesses and individuals we support, but also about the community we’re part of.
One of the things I particularly enjoy about my role is being able to connect with local organisations, charities, events and independent businesses. Brighton has such a wonderfully creative and collaborative business community, and it’s rewarding to help build relationships and support initiatives that make a positive difference.
There’s also a real sense of pride in seeing our team get involved, whether that’s volunteering, supporting a local cause or simply getting out and experiencing something different together.

Absolutely! Supporting our local community is something we’re really passionate about at Plus Accounting.
As a Brighton-based business, we recognise how important independent businesses, makers, creatives and community organisations are to the character and success of our city.
Events like The Fairy Tale Fair bring people together, give talented local makers an opportunity to showcase their work and encourage people to shop locally. They’re also a wonderful reminder of how much creativity and entrepreneurial spirit we have right on our doorstep.
Being a B Corp has strengthened our commitment to making a positive impact, and we actively look for opportunities to support local organisations, charities and community initiatives.
For us, sponsorship isn’t simply about having our logo on something. It’s about building genuine relationships, supporting people doing brilliant things and helping create a thriving local community.
We’re especially pleased to be supporting The Fairy Tale Fair this Christmas, with the event taking place just around the corner from our offices in Preston Park!

One that really resonates with me is:

I think this reflects what makes a strong community. Whether it’s choosing to shop with an independent maker, volunteering your time, supporting a local event or simply recommending a small business to a friend, all those little actions collectively make a real difference.
It’s something we try to reflect in how we work and the relationships we build at Plus Accounting.
