Makers Monday… Meet Heidi Rhodes Textiles

Makers MondayNo commentsJuly 22, 2021Claire

Today we find out more about Fairy Tale Fair regular Brighton based artist Heidi Rhodes Textiles. We just can’t get enough of her fairy tale embroidered art and we’re sure you will love it too..

Please introduce yourself and your brand….

My name is Heidi and I am a textile artist based in Brighton. My work is inspired by Fairytales, city architecture and a sparkly combination of the two. We have a little gallery on the sea front called the Naughty Pirates Gallery.

How would you describe your style and your products?

My style is fun and free with lots of energy. I like to capture whats in my imagination with thread, using the loose threads to add a sense of movement.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I enjoy all aspects of my work from the initial drawing to the packing and decorating the parcel with stickers!

Do you have a best seller or favourite to make?

My best sellers tend to change quite a lot, often its the latest piece. I like to make new ideas best.

What are your plans or ambitions for the future?

Our plan for the future is to get our gallery back on track as it was closed for most of lock down. There are lots of talented artists in the Artists Quarter it has a really positive feel. Creatively I would like to complete my second little fairy tale book and I have a secret love of collage so I’d like to make some time for that.

Sum up your brand in 3 words…

personal happy childhood

Do you have a motto or favourite quote for inspiration?
