Please introduce yourself and your brand….
I’m Gnina, a Food scientist and Winemaker, and I run In the loop drinks, a solar-powered winery in Crowborough, East Sussex, specialising in award-winning English Vermouth and Cocktails.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
My style is easy-drinking and fuss free.
English Vermouth: a fortified wine used to make many of the classic cocktails, but they make really easy mixers with things like Prosecco or soda water.
Cocktails: ready mixed, just add ice. We have large bottles of Negroni and little Cocktail gift packs which make perfect presents.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Having the creative licence to make anything I want, coupled with seeing people enjoy what I’ve made.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas on Sunday 1st December at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Our cute little Cocktail gift packs – at £14 they fly off the shelf at this time of year. We’ll also have bottles of our award-winning English Vermouth and large bottles of Negroni, and everything will be open to taste too. This is our first time at the Charmandean and I’m sure it will be a fun day.
Do you have a best seller?
The Semi-sweet red English Vermouth sells well all year, but its similarity to Port means it sells particularly well in the Winter.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I’d like to continue to work with Waitrose and the National trust to get the products into more shops.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Wanted not wasted. We work with English wine that would otherwise go to waste and give it new life as Vermouth – this circularity ethos underpins all business decisions.
