Meet The Chintzy Teacup at Barties!

craft, Events, Fairy TaleNo commentsDecember 2, 2013FTFadmin

Please introduce yourself and what you create:

My name is Clare and I am the Chintzy Teacup Company which makes vintage teacup candles. The crockery is sourced from around Sussex and then I hand dye and scent each individual candle. Each candle is wrapped in undyed tissue paper and then housed in a beautiful gold box. I sell them for £8 each.

Are you looking forward to selling at Bartie’s and do you have some lovely festive gifts ready for everyone to buy?

My candles make perfect gifts. I have lots of vintage cups that are highly decorative this season and when combined with a beautiful wax colour they look very Christmassy! Think gold leaf patterned tea cups with red candles scented with gardenia and rose though to delicate vintage Japanese bone china with a fresh bluebell scented ivory candle. There will be something to suit all tastes!

What do you enjoy most about your craft?

I enjoy all aspects from sourcing the teacups through to the alchemy of matching a crockery design with the perfect coloured dye.

Are you selling at any other markets over the festive period?

Yes I sold at The Brighton Garden Centre Christmas market on 1 December and am selling at the Big Brighton Christmas Fair at the Sallis Benney Theatre on the 8th December.
