Today we’re pleased to welcome a new maker to our fair, Dream Weaver Katina, who you can meet on Sunday 1st December at Worthing Charmandean. Find out more about her ahead of the day…
Please introduce yourself and your brand…
Hi, I’m Katina! Originally from Canada, I’ve called Brighton my home for over 16 years. My journey into the world of creativity has been filled with varied pursuits, from upcycling furniture to crafting with my children. Seven years ago, I found my true passion in macrame. Now, under the name Dream Weaver Katina, I bring my creations to life—from wall hangings and plant hangers to unique custom orders, macrame offers endless possibilities, which I love. I also love sharing the craft with others in my workshops.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
My style is definitely all about colour, vibrancy, and versatility. I’m drawn to creating pieces that bring warmth and personality to a space, whether it’s a large wall hanging or a cozy plant hanger. My aim is to create items that feel unique and timeless but are versatile enough to fit any setting or purpose. There’s so much creative freedom with macrame—it’s endless and inspiring!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I find the meditative quality of macrame incredibly fulfilling. The rhythm of knotting has a calming effect, and I love how each piece unfolds uniquely. It’s also so wonderful seeing people connect with something I’ve made, it is incredibly rewarding. Every design has a bit of a story behind it, and when someone else loves it as much as I enjoyed making it, it’s a great feeling.
