Emily Jane, creator of Jewellery With Life
Jewellery is something that is so personal, and one of the only things in life where the sentimental value outweighs the material value. It’s something that tells a story and I love being able to help people tell theirs. This is why I love making one-off and custom pieces. Knowing that what I’m creating is going to mean so much, is so special.
My biggest inspiration is the world around me. I love nothing more than getting out with my camera and taking photos of nature, architecture and various textured surfaces. My love of nature runs deep, and I do what I can to be as ethical and environmentally friendly as I can. I use recycled, recyclable and reusable packaging as well as utilising recycled silver/gold and ethically sourced gemstones. I’m also passionate about making as much by hand as possible. It’s so important to hold onto traditional practices in a world so filled with technology. We’re also living in a world obsessed by trends and getting the latest things as fast as possible, and this causes a lot of issues (we all know what it’s like wearing a ring that turns your finger green).
Supporting small businesses, like mine, means you can find pieces that suit your personality as well as getting items that are made with a lot of care and can last a lifetime. As a business owner I strive to be open, honest and create unique pieces that help express people’s true nature. I have always used jewellery as a way to express my personal style and I really want to help you do the same. Why wear something that doesn’t make you feel good!?
