In our final stall holder interview ahead of our fair this Sunday 26th November at Brighton Open Market we welcome back Laura Danby. Laura’s products are always very popular at our fairs so be sure to stop by her stall on the day…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello I’m Laura Danby. A designer, illustrator, print maker and crafter! I’m a brighton girl who creates a range of illustrated animal and pattern products.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I make, print, sew and craft a range of illustrated gifts. Screen prints, greetings cards, stationery, tote bags, purses, acrylic jewellery all designed with a touch of Scandi and a pop of colour. My style is flat colour, sharp lines with a retro edge.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The idea, the creativity, the illustration, then process of making the item and then packaging it up in my brand style. I love rolling my sleeves up and screen printing my latest design. I enjoy making each and every item!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Brighton Open Market on Sunday 26th November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
You can expect Christmas gifts and stocking fillers galore! Colourful illustrated designs on a vairety of products and jewellery, perfect for gifting. I also have some new enamel camping mugs which I’m launching at the Christmas fairs.
Do you have a best seller?
My fox brooch is probably still my best top seller. Although my giraffe bags and gin pins and prints seem to be doing well too at the moment!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
My ambitions are sky high! I am loving the journey I am on and plan to illustrate more and create more ranges with more fantastic products coming your way in 2018. Watch this space!
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Work hard, play hard!
Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
