Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
My name is Toby and I like CATS. I make cute things for other people that like cats too! From knitted cat face brooches, hand drawn jewellery and handmade purses and pencil cases to illustrated greetings cards and other paper goods! My newest items are hand painted wooden brooches.
How would you describe your style?
Cute, fun, colourful and happy
How long have you been making your craft items?
I have been making as I like CATS for just over a year now, but I’ve been a crafter since forever.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
I get to look at lots of pictures of cats and not feel guilty about procrastinating. Plus I love that I get to go to fairs like The Fairy Tale Fair and meet lots of lovely people – both crafters and other stall holders!
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
I love doing fairs and have had stalls at a couple of local ones including Craftaganza. This year I am hoping to travel outside of Brighton for some, and perhaps take part in an Open House at some point too.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
I’ve got lots more products in the pipe line which I can’t wait to get into production, I just have to sell some more things to be able to buy the materials!
You have previously taken part in The Fairy Tale Fair. Did you enjoy the day?
This will be my third time at The Fairy Tale Fair and each one has been super fun with lots going on. I can’t wait to have more cake and I know I will come home having spent most of my profit at other stalls!
