We can’t wait to welcome back Lauren of Lauren’s Art to our Brighton Open Market Christmas Craft fair on Sunday 26th November. Find out more about her and her illustrations…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello! I’m Lauren of Lauren’s Art.
I’m an artist and illustrator of quirky Brighton (and London) cityscapes. My intricate work aims to capture the vibrant character and ‘buzz’ of Brighton.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
My style is fun and light hearted. I aim to capture the character of Brighton with different layers of city life. My busy artworks include; iconic buildings, houses, shops, wildlife and the people.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I really enjoy seeing people recognise places within my artwork at these events. It’s so nice when people can connect to something I’ve made.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Brighton Open Market on Sunday 26th November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Our stall will have quirky prints, framed artwork, coasters, tea towels, tote bags and Christmas cards. We have some new designs especially for Christmas as well.
Do you have a best seller?
The coasters make nice gifts and often get posted around the world. The artwork ‘Brighton by Day’ is very popular too.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
World domination- only joking!
But I would like to do an artwork for every city in the world.. l’ve got a long way to go though! ‘Paris’, ‘Rome’ and ‘Hawaii’ have been started but I’m enjoying Brighton so much at the moment, it may take some time before they get finished.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
‘Looking at Life with the Eyes of a Child’ Henri Matisse
Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
Too much food!
