Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
I am Originally from Bedfordshire but I grew up in the states. I live in Hove with my husband and two small children. I was taught to sew, knit and quilt by my father’s mother Ellen when I was a little girl. Her side of my family had ancestors on the Mayflower and were some of the first American settlers. The Family styles of crafting were passed on to me, and I still love to make interesting and challenging creations to this day.
I started Lil Mommas while on maternity leave last year and am new to the craft fair circuit. My wares reflect my life; bright, kid friendly, and whimsical. Every design that I display in my stalls was originally tested, tried out and loved by my own children, then hand produced for these fairs. My designs include children quilts, costumes, bags, soft toys and other furnishings for the family home.
How long have you been making your craft items?
Privately, for over 20 years. I began my business in January of 2012.
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it? And do you have some special festive items planned to sell?
My cuddle monsters, and for this upcoming fair I will be selling kits so you can take them home and customise for your own.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
I love to see a project finished and enjoyed by others.
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
Yes, I have been involved with the Brunswick Festival, St anne Wells Rural day as well as the Hollingdean Christmas Market.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
I hope to continue to build my business, and expand to more craft fairs in the area.
Sum up what Christmas is to you in 5 words or less!:
Family, food, traditions, comfort, joy
