Today we meet another Fairy Tale Fair newbie Mary and Kassi- otherwise known as Me and Mrs Jones. They make some super cute crafty creations, so read on to find out more…
“You can take craft ANYWHERE! Mary won’t leave house without her crocheting. She often gets the bus and will get funny looks from people as she sits there. You can sit and sew whilst watching the TV- or dedicate a whole day to making a mess and not caring!”– Kassi
Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
Me and Mrs Jones are mother and daughter who have been crafting for a very long time. Mary (Mrs Jones) taught Me (Kassi) all she knows, and together they make a variety of crafts from greetings cards, hair clips, bunting, sewed decorations/badges, crocheting and Kassi’s special scrabble pictures.
How would you describe your style?
Our styles are quite different. Whereas Mary is very traditional, with her crochet baby shawls for instance, and her gorgeous afghan blankets; Kassi seems to have a bit more of a modern twist to her crafts, as you will see from her scrabble pictures and bunting.
How long have you been making your craft items?
We have been making them forever! My fondest memories are my mum teaching how to do quilling, how to make patchwork cushions and how to make chocolate truffles. I really did grow up surrounded by crafts.
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?
I think the best seller has to be the baby blankets. They are the perfect gift for a new born, and they can be kept as the child’s “blankie” forever. Kassi still has hers! 😉
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
You can take craft ANYWHERE! Mary won’t leave house without her crocheting. She often gets the bus and will get funny looks from people as she sits there. You can sit and sew whilst watching the TV- or dedicate a whole day to making a mess and not caring!
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
We have been to school fairs, and our local Christmas Market, but we have both been a bit bust lately- so are just getting back into the flor
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
The ideal dream would be to have our own little shop. A craft shop come tea room.
But for now, we are happy knowing people enjoy our hardwork.
Now… we just need to win the lottery.
