Today we introduce My Little Play Box, who we look forward to welcoming for the first time to our Easter fair on Sunday 3rd April at Worthing Charmandean.
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
We are Kayleigh and Alex, together we created ‘My Little Play Box’. A business built around providing activity boxes for babies and children aged 0-3+. We offer four different boxes aimed at the various age groups to make sure the activities benefit the child and develop their relevant skills.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Our style is fun and educational. Our monthly activity boxes are packed full of resources to entertain children. Every month is based on a different theme, and inside we include a messy/ sensory play experience, a craft, a game to play and a book. We work hard to make sure each theme is not only exciting but that each activity helps the child learn something new. Subscribers can go to our website each month and choose which book they would like us to include.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
We love receiving photos of our customers enjoying their boxes, getting stuck into some messy play or looking really proud of the craft they have created.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Easter Special on Sunday 3rd April at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
We are very much looking forward to taking part in The Fairy Tale Fair. Being a primarily online business, we don’t often get to meet our customers so it is always great to get feedback on our products.
We will be selling special Easter boxes, designed to keep the littlest family members busy during the school break when normal baby classes aren’t usually on. With many of the activities older siblings can help, making it a lovely bonding experience. We will also be selling our Welcome to the World box – a perfect gift for a newborn – alongside one off boxes, our activity cards and our homemade crayons. Plus there will be a selection of children’s books, a great alternative gift to chocolate this Easter!
Do you have a best seller?
Our ‘Animal Action Cards’ have been loved by so many! Each of the 12 animals give a suggestion of a different way to move your body, for example “Jump like a kangeroo”. Children learn animal names, whilst developing
their gross motor skills. What’s more, they come in a handy drawstring bag which means they can be taken out and used on the go, great for standing in queues or waiting rooms!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
We would love to continue spreading the word about our business so that more babies, toddlers and preschoolers can benefit from and enjoy our activity boxes. We also plan to set up a scheme where parents can donate a book to a family in need so that more children can benefit from My Little Play Box.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Children learn as they play. More importantly, in play, children learn how to learn. Fred Donaldson
Children need the freedom and time to play. Play is not a luxury. It is a necessity. Kay Redfield Jamison
