“Illustration is just so versatile; I love seeing them printed on objects that people can see and appreciate every day…”– Giulia
Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
My name is Giulia; I am and artist -Illustrator. I love painting and drawing children illustrations. I also work on conceptual – figurative watercolors and paintings.
How would you describe your style?
My illustrations style is colorful, happy, child like, quirky, magical, fairy like, cute and sweet…! I paint a lot of fairies, princesses, unicorns and I love painting positive and motivational quotes to inspire children of all ages!
How long have you been making your craft items?
I have been painting, printing and cutting for a little over five years now, and I’m loving it! I sell my artwork in my shop: http://www.thecardtree.etsy.com and in gifts shops around the country. I also work on commission and make custom made cards, stationery and paintings.
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?
I seem to be selling lots of my little treasure boxes and little illustrated necklaces. I also sell lots of cards and matching gift tags.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
Illustration is just so versatile; I love seeing them printed on objects that people can see and appreciate every day, such as prints, treasure boxes, mugs, stickers, diaries and calendars.
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
Yes, I take part on other crafts fairs a couple of times a year, usually during summer. But this year I’m actually doing something a little bit: I’m opening my studio for two weeks during the Surrey Open Studios in June. Visitors will be able to see me at work while painting and illustrating and buy my art and my craft, as well as trying some of my homemade vegan cupcakes!
What items and Mother’s day/ Easter gifts will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?
At the fair I will be selling lots of little gifts such as treasury boxes, prints, pendants, party invitations as well as cards.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
My dream is to work as a professional illustrator full time. I am currently working on a children’s book project, a illustrated card set and book and I am also working with some musicians for the creation for their cd covers. I recently began doing drawing for a local Magazine which I thorely enjoy.
