Today we welcome back Troy Ohlson who’ll join us this Saturday 17th November at Patcham Methodist. Find out more about her ahead of the fair…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello, I’m a Brighton Painter & Printmaker. My name is Troy Elizabeth Ohlson.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
My work is colourful and evocative. Sculptural collage and impasto create texture, gossamer glazes of richly pigmented paint combine with touches of delicate detail to capture the beauty, atmosphere and timeless essence of each place in my lanscape paintings. My wildlife and animal paintings are full of character and expression, their personalities shine, touching your heart as they make you smile.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Experiementing with new techniques keeps my work fresh and exciting.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Patcham on November 17th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I will be exhibiting my paintings, etchings, collagraphs, fine art giclee prints and cards. Of course I’m looking forward to taking part – the Fairy Tale Fair always has a wonderful variety of exciting and inspirational artists and makers and lots of lovely visitors too!
Do you have a best seller?
Several of my prints are very popular. It’s always fascinating chatting with buyers about their favourite and why that particular one…
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I am excited about continuing the series of landscape paintings I’m working on at the moment. I am very pleased with the way my collage and impasto techniques have become unique and distinctive. I also have a fantastic series of sketches and photographs from upclose encounters with wildlife that I’m looking forward to painting in the new year.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
“I would like to paint the way a bird sings” Claude Monet
