We were lucky enough to have been invited and nominated in The Argus Community Awards 2015, which was held on Saturday afternoon at The Theatre Royal Brighton.
This was the 14th annual awards and The Argus describe it as,
“THE VERY best of our community was honoured at a glittering awards ceremony this afternoon dedicated to our unsung heroes and those who have gone beyond the call of duty.
The Argus Community Stars Awards celebrated its 14th year with a bumper ceremony at the Theatre Royal in Brighton this afternoon which saw the winners collect their prizes.
The nominations are sent in by Argus readers and the winner was then decided by our crack team of judges.
From parents and carers to local heroes and young sport stars, the very best of Sussex was on show at the ceremony which saw people cheer, laugh and cry.”
We were nominated in the Best Community Event category – and in the end made the shortlisted top 3! BBC newsreader Nick Owen presented the awards and read out all about the achievements of our fair to the audience.
The afternoon was very humbling with other awards going to people who had saved others lives, raised thousands for charity and a special awards for the first response emergency services of the Shoreham air disaster.
We were proud to have even be nominated and to make the top 3 was more than we could have hoped for. A big thank you to those of you who put us forward for the award in the first place too!
