Today we are pleased to welcome back Letterbox Kits. They have been a regular and very popular workshop at our fair for years now so this is one not to miss! Find out more…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello! I’m Alice and I run Letterbox Kits with my sister Caroline and my Dad David. Caroline runs Tiny Treat Boutique and she has been selling cake-based jewellery for seven years. I’ve helped her out at fairs over this time and we spoke to lots of people who wanted to have a go themselves at making polymer clay jewellery. So we created Letterbox Kits to give everyone the opportunity to give it a go!
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Fun! We base all our designs on food and as they are doll’s house scale they do look quite cute. As you are decorating them exactly as you want, you get to decide how far to push that! I love to make a bright pink and purple marshmallow covered cupcake while my Dad prefers a sensible pepperoni pizza.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
My top three things about working for Letterbox Kits are going to bakeries for work (research!), spreadsheets, and Instagram. The Instagram community and everyone in the Brighton Etsy Team especially are so supportive.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Patcham on Saturday 19th November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I’ll have five kinds of kit – Donut, Cupcake, Pizza, Fruit Tart and Gingerbread House – that you can buy as a three charm kit or a single charm mini kit. You can also buy ready made necklaces, earrings and key rings made by Tiny Treat Boutique!
Alongside our kits and jewellery we will be running workshops throughout the day; just grab one of the chairs and get stuck in! We’ll be on hand to help and we’ve got everything you or your child need to make your own charm there and then.
Do you have a best seller?
Our bestseller at the moment is the Donut kit. Donuts are WHERE IT’S AT! We love them 🙂
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I’m busy thinking up new kits designs, and we’ll ask visitors at the fair what they want to see next. We will also be launching party kits to make your next party a creative explosion! Whether that be a 9th birthday or a hen party.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
When I saw this pop up on twitter a while ago, everything became clear to me! I have to look at it every now and again to remind myself that when I’m in stage 3, it means stage 6 is on the way!
What part of Christmas do you enjoy the most?
I’ve got a small daughter so last year my favourite part was sitting her in a pile of wrapping paper and watching her play. This year she knows what presents are so it will be a different story! I’m super excited about making everything glittery and warm and full of decorations for her.
