Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hi my name is Jacqueline and though I started working with glass many years ago , it is only within the last three years that I set up August Glass Designs. I make glass structures and gifts for the home using the copper foil technique and more recently sandblasting and glass fusing.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I would say that my style doesn’t seem to have any boundaries and it ranges from urban minimalism to warm and cosy, with a plethora of styles crammed in between! I tend to follow my imagination which one day wants to create geometric structures and another day, create a stained glass bird with weird feet
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy so much about my work but I particularly enjoy creating new designs and seeing them come to life.
I use copper foil and also sandblasting but recently have added fusing to the list, so I do enjoy the excitement and trepidation of opening the kiln to see what happened to an experiment!
I love hearing from my customers and seeing pictures of one of my creations in its new home.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas in aid of St Barnabas on Sunday 3rd December? And are you looking forward to taking part?
My stall will offer geometric glass terrariums and mini structures, stained glass lightcatchers, fused glass cards and sandblasted vases
Do you have a best seller?
I have two best sellers and these are a glass ring bearer/proposal box and a long glass tealight box
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I am working on launching a collection of glass lighting in collaboration with my partner. Our lighting range is minimal in design but sizes and structures will vary greatly…..as far as our imagination will allow it!
