Please introduce yourself and your brand….

My name is Katya and myself and my daughter Anya are Maverick Roots.

How would you describe your style and your creations?

At Maverick Roots we combine our love of geometric and industrial design with our obsession with succulent plants to bring unique decorative planters for the home and weddings.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

We absolutely love nurturing our plants both from seed and through propagation but equally love creating new designs for planters and ways to display them through macrame.

What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton Fringe Special on Saturday 20th May? And are you looking forward to taking part?

This will be our first time holding a stall at a Fairy Tale Fair, so really looking forward to it, and to meeting new customers and stallholders. We love Brighton and are excited to bring our products there, we hope they will be well received! You can expect to see original and unique hand cast concrete planters in the form of hexagons, octagons, octahedrons, dodecahedrons, circles, squares and triangles, all planted up with gorgeous succulents and cacti! Perfect for home decoration. We also provide decoration and favours for weddings and events.

Do you have a best seller?

Our best seller is our Octagonal Concrete Planter, which is available in light and dark concrete grey. We will have a selection of these and other geometric planters on 20th. We have added recently a macrame hanger to compliment this planter which is also popular. The octagonal planter looks great planted up with a nice spiky cactus as well as a softer rosette type succulent.

Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?

We have new designs ideas in mind and in progress all the time. However some new designs will lend themselves to being created in clay rather than concrete, so pottery is the pipeline! As well as selling at fairs we also sell from spaces in shops, we intend to increase the volume of stock in order to sell in more local shops.

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?

Our motto is “Beauty brings Calm” that when you look at, hold, listen to etc. something beautiful, the effect being that your senses provoke a feeling of tranquility. We aspire to bring calm to our customers with beautiful geometric objects that when held and admired, provoke that sensation of tranquility.

How can we find out more about you?
