Today we welcome Dear Diary Vintage who join us for the first time this Sunday at Brighton Open Market. Find out more about them…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello, my name is Georgina and my brand is called Dear diary vintage. Dear diary vintage is about remembering and celebrating that 12 year old girl (or boy!) that lives within us all. The same girl who used to start each page of her diary entry using her best handwriting and fountain pen with Dear diary…
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I work mainly with wood, vintage illustrations and my Dymo machine creating jewellery and reminiscing about bygone days. My work is loved by children, teenagers and adults who simply refuse to give into growing up! Join me in a creative world where you can sport an individual brooch/necklace declaring that you are proud to be a cat lady, unicorns do exist, typewriters and pocket watches are used and space is marvelled at.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Mostly, I enjoy seeing customers reactions to my work and realising there are many similar souls out there who appreciate fun, kitsch jewellery that transports them to the days of their youth and people who refuse to properly give into the world of adulting ! I also love the fact I never know what will inspire me to make something and that you can draw inspiration from everyday life.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton on November 13th at Brighton Open Market? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Lots of fun and unique jewellery items (cats,Alice in Wonderland, typewriters, dinosaurs and space are just a few of the themes I work with!) that make perfect Christmas presents/stocking fillers for your friends and family (and yourself!).My pricing is reasonable mainly between £3-15 so there is something for every bank balance especially those secret Santa missions!
I can’t wait to take part at Fairy Tale Fair Brighton and be part of a day celebrating creativeness and support other creatives selling their wares.
Do you have a best seller?
My cat lady brooches are one of my best sellers! It turns out there are many proud cat ladies out there!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I would like to get online and I will be doing this soon and constantly adding to my shop over the next few weeks so it will be worth regularly checking my Etsy shop for new goodies. In the future I also want to get a proper SLR camera to take better pictures of my work…If Santa is listening hint hint!

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
‘We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.’
What part of Christmas do you enjoy the most?
I love all of Christmas..mulled wine..family time…kitsch Christmas decorations..glitter… stockings…the food..the games….I love it all! I can’t pinpoint one thing only that mulled wine probably shouldn’t have come first on that list!
