Today we introduce another Fairy Tale Fair newbee – Amy of Disco Stitches. We love her super colourful crocheted creations and think you will too. Find her selling with us on November 15th at Brighton Open Market.
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hey, I’m Amy and I make lots of crocheted stuff under my instagram name ‘@discostitches’ – I wrote a blog a while ago called ‘no more disco’ and the name has kind of stuck!
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Most of my creations are bright and colourful and give a modern twist to a traditional craft.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I find crochet such a satisfying, focusing craft. I feel completely in flow when I work now I’ve mastered it, but the thing I enjoy the most is watching the colours come together and creating something beautiful from a humble bit of yarn.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton this November? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I’ll be the one with piles of blankets on my stand and I’ve been making plenty of bright and beautiful baubles and other Christmas Decorations. I am really looking forward to taking part in the Fairy Tale Fair this year, it’s my first ever fair selling, I hope to do a bit of Christmas shopping myself.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I’ve just started teaching so expect lots more classes – along with video tutorials and patterns which you’ll be able to find on my blog www.discostitches.com.
I also hope to make many more blankets for little people over the next year.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
The John Lennon quote: Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end
How can we find out more about you?
