Joining us on December 6th at Brighton Racecourse we welcome Stoats & Weasels and her playful products…
Please introduce yourself and your brand…..
I’m Lisa Bamford, and I work under the name of Stoats & Weasels. My favourite quote, and motto for life is: “We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.” Benjamin Franklin
Tell us a bit about your creations and how you make them….
I create silly, colourful, and sometimes romantic, designs for gift packs of button badges and fridge magnets, greetings cards and screen prints. The badges and magnets are made on my trusty badge making machine at home, and I produce my screen prints at Ink Spot Press in Brighton.
How long have you been making your creations?
I’ve always dabbled in creating designs outside of my work, but the last couple of years is when I’ve been making more time to do it in a more in depth way.
Do you have a best seller or most popular item?
It’s split between my romantic ‘I found you’ fish print and the (very) silly ‘Well do they?’ pooing bear print.
What do you enjoy most about your craft/ work?
I really enjoy my day job being a graphic designer, but I also enjoy the creative freedom that making my own work brings and being able to express myself though it. I love it when my work makes people smile too, I think that’s what I like best.
What are your plans or ambitions for the future, or have you already achieved them?
I want to continue to develop my range of designs, and also start to think about putting my designs onto other items such as mugs, tote bags and tea towels. I’d also really like to get some of my products stocked in shops.
