Today we welcome Fairy Tale Fair newbie Caroline, of The Doll Maker, we thought her dolls were wonderfully suited for our fair and unique as well. Find out all about her…
Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
When describing my work, I would say it’s a collection of weirdly beautiful dolls. All of which have been individually hand sculpted and hand stitched using cernit doll making clay and vintage fabrics.
How long have you been making your craft items?
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it? And do you have some special festive items planned to sell?
I do make commission dolls if someone would like a doll made for a special gift or of someone they know.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
All the different aspects of doll making which include; design, sculpting, face painting and dress making. I love it all!
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
I sell at Art Galleries, Open Studio in Stroud 2011, Vintage & Art Fairs.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
I will always keep making more dolls but at present I am also studying ceramics and enjoying using paper clay and porcelain to create some other fairytale work including lace dresses and forest creatures.
