Towner, Eastbourne | 13 Jul – 22 Sep 13
We have a special post today about a lovely exhibition at the Towner Eastbourne, the contemporary art museum for South East England.
Towner’s summer exhibition presents the complete set of Lyons Teashops Lithographs – commissioned by catering giant J. Lyons & Co. in the post-war years, to combat a wartime decline in the interiors of their famous teashops. The exhibition features some of the most popular British artists of the day, including John Piper, Edward Bawden, David Gentleman, John Minton, William Scott, Duncan Grant, John Nash and L.S. Lowry. Step back in time to experience a Great British institution at a time when great art overcame austerity! Click here for more information.
