Makers Monday: Meet Emily Jane

Makers MondayNo commentsOctober 25, 2021Claire

Today we chat to Emily of Emily Jane to find out a little more about her and her beautiful jewellery…

Please introduce yourself and your brand….

Hi, I’m Emily the owner of Emily Jane! I hand make jewellery that is inspired by nature and the world around me. I love nothing more than getting out with my camera and taking photos to inspire my jewellery. My love of nature runs deep, and I do what I can to be as ethical and environmentally friendly as I can. I use recycled, recyclable and reusable packaging as well as utilising recycled silver/gold and ethically sourced gemstones.

How would you describe your style and your products?

My tagline is Jewellery With Life as that best describes the jewellery I make and the ethos of the business. Each and every one of my pieces has it’s own unique character and gorgeous organic qualities.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Besides being in my studio making away, it has to be making really special pieces for people. Jewellery is so personal and I love being a small part of that magic and helping people tell their own unique stories.

Do you have a best seller or favourite to make?

My one of my best sellers is the Copper textured earrings! They always catch people’s eye and are so easy to style.

Ooooh! picking a favourite make is so hard! I love everything I make (and I’m guilty of keeping far too many pieces for myself), but I would have to say larger gemstone pieces like my Flourite Pendant. It’s so nice getting to design a piece around such gorgeous stones.

What are your plans or ambitions for the future?

At the moment I run the business part time, alongside working, so the ultimate goal is to be working for myself full time. I loooovvve what I do, and I can’t wait to be doing this full time.

Sum up your brand in 3 words…

Ooo….You’re getting me with these questions! I would say Passionate, Caring, Unique.

Do you have a motto or favourite quote for inspiration?

One of the mottos I use a lot within my business and branding is ‘Why wear something that doesn’t make you feel good!?’ My biggest goal with my jewellery is to help people show off their unique style. We get sucked into how we’re “supposed” to look and what we’re “supposed” to wear and end up hiding our true selves away. Jewellery is the perfect way to express your true nature and help you feel good in what you’re wearing.

How can we find out more about you?

You can find me on Instagram @emilyjanedesigner_ and also via my website https://www.jewellerywithlife.co.uk/. There’s lots more there about me, and what I do.
