Today we catch up with Claire of Incey Wincey Studio ahead of our Worthing Charmandean Christmas fair this Sunday...
Hello, I’m Claire and you may know me as the designer maker of Incey Wincey Studio. I create stitched and printed textiles and paper in my home studio here in Worthing.
My style is simple and understated, I love using beautiful colours and quality materials. I draw much of my inspiration from nature, its colours, lines and patterns never cease to amaze me. Something that I particularly value in creating my own work is that I can have a variety of work on the go at any one time – there’s never a dull moment!
This year I have completed “A Year of Birth Flowers” a collection of twelve botanical illustrations depicting the birth flower of each month of the year. I have screen printed cards, prints and lavender bags from each of these drawings and will have a very special boxed gift sets of cards with me at the fair.
Alongside my birth flower collection, I will have my stitched wool felt and Liberty fabric brooches and glasses, phone and needle cases and also my Liberty hair bows, scrunchies and reusable face wipes.
The next step for me is to continue with my botanical drawings and screen printing. I already have a larger screen ready to make a start on a range of cushions and prints.
My motto came to me several years ago whilst I was thinking about my business name (I’ll tell you how that came about, if you would like to know, another time).
INCEY WINCEY STUDIO – Made on a small scale, in a small space, with a big heart.
If I could sum my Christmas up in three words, they would be Family, Candlelight and Excitement.
I am delighted to be returning to The Fairy Tale Fair and seeing you all face to face again.
