Today we welcome back Chris Millard who joins us next Saturday 16th November at Patcham!…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hi, I’m Chris & I’m an illustrator based in Brighton.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I’d describe my style as traditional with a pop. My illustrations are created by hand using fine liners and watercolours with gives them a classic feel but the coloured backgrounds bring a modern, playfulness to them.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy most being able to have fun with my work, getting to experiment with making new illustrations, trying new techniques and playing with colour. I really enjoy the variety in my work too, from the animal art prints and gifts to bespoke gift illustrations and pet portraits, it really keeps me energized.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Patcham on November 16th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
A range of prints, mugs, cushions and greetings cards featuring my animal illustrations.
It will also be the first event where I will be selling my new Christmas card designs for the year!
Do you have a best seller?
My art prints have been really popular recently & I’ve seen an increase in people buying them in sets of 3 or 4 so they can hang them together which is really cool. I’m also having quite a few orders for personalised gift illustrations, especially of people’s houses or favourite holiday spots.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
100’s, (it’s just getting round to doing them!)
I have lots of projects and ideas all dotted around my workspace & even a box in my office full of part started drawings that I want to go back to. My main one is still my animal alphabet which will be done very soon!
I’m also keen to start collaborating with other creatives and see how I could begin to grow my brand into new ventures and projects that I’ve not even imagined yet.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
‘Be so good they can’t ignore you’
