Today we welcome My Cotton House, find out more about their wonderful creations…
Hi, my name is Teresa and I created My Cotton House in 2012, when I discovered my passion for fabrics and sewing. I have never stopped since and always try to learn more and improve myself every day. To know that you have put out an item that you have thought of, designed and created and that you can be proud of is one of the best feelings.
I make fabric, cork and hessian fashion accessories, homewares and gifts for those looking for something unique. My creations are inspired on vintage and quirky designs, which are paired up with brightly coloured fabrics and patterns. They take shape in my very own busy craft room at home and it fills up the majority of my free time.
I enjoy creating and making products with natural resources and most recently, I have expanded my range to include items made out of cork, which is an amazing eco friendly product. People’s attention is drawn to the rustic look and the smooth soft touch of the cork and they just love it because it is so unique. I also like to combine the cork with Irish or Scottish wool; I think they just match so well.
At the moment, my bags and purses made out of cork are definitely my best sellers.
For each festive season or themed fair we do like to make sure that we blend in with the festivities. This year, for the Fairy Tale Craft Fair, I made Christmas tree and Nativy decorations made with hessian. I also have other cute ornaments made with felt.
My plans for the future include carrying on creating and sewing, taking My Cotton House to new heights and seeing the business grow and expand our client base. With the help of my husband and my daughters I want to continue to exhibit my creations in the best craft and art fairs across the south east of England. I also want to continue expanding my international sales via my Etsy shop. Creating my own website is also part of my plans for the near future.
For us at My Cotton House, Christmas is synonymous with peace, sharing and family coming together.
