Today we brighten our days with the joyous products of Offfbeat Birdy who we look forward to welcoming on Sunday 3rd April at Worthing Charmandean…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hey, I’m Abby and I’m the maker at Offbeat Birdy and I run the business with my sister Hannah, who manages the marketing side of things. We want to bring joy through our products and social media, making people smile is our main drive. We love to laugh and are not afraid to make ourselves look silly to get a few giggles!
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Our style is bold, colourful and cheerful. Quite often there is a retro feel too, that comes from me and my love for the 40s-60s eras! We like to use a quartz type effect in most of our creations, often using translucent clay to add depth to our pieces. There is also quite a lot of glitter…we love glitter!
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The creative part for me, locking myself away in my workroom and letting the practice of working with the clay make something beautiful. The social media side for Hannah, she loves putting our products out there for all to see.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Easter Special on Sunday 3rd April at Worthing Charmandean? And are you looking forward to taking part?
We are so looking forward to taking part, meeting people and being social is something we both love to do – we are quite the chatty pair! Please come and say hi!!
On the table at the fair will be a huge selection of earrings, some of our new necklaces, a lucky dip and lots of smiles!
Do you have a best seller?
Our shaped hoops have been a great hit, lots of styles selling out quickly! My personal favourite shape are the stars and Hannah’s are the hexagons.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
Our ambition is to see more wonderful humans wearing and getting joy from our products, nothing makes us happier! One day I hope to work on OBB full time, that’s the dream, to be my own boss and do something I love all day!
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Our favourite is “We’re all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars” it speaks to us that you can find light in the darkest of places. There will always be lows, everyone will experience them, its all about seeing the joy when it peeks through. I even have this one tattooed on my arm!
