We look forward to welcoming Fledgling Crafts this Sunday 3rd December at Worthing Charmandean. Find out more about Heather and her craft-y creations…
Please introduce yourself and your brand…
Hello! I’m Heather from Fledgling Crafts. A former primary school teacher and mum of two, my products are generally inspired by children. I hand sew my products from the highest quality fabrics.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I like to create things that are cosy and comforting and my creations include soft furnishings, scented sachets and Tinny Tinies. Tinny Tinies are unique, individual soft toys small enough to fit into a tiny tin. Each Tinny Tiny has its own sleeping bag, pillow and adoption certificate.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love making people happy. One of my specially commissioned Tinny Tiny EleFriends delivered a very special message to America in the form of a proposal… and she said Yes!
I love seeing my children light up when I try something new, They think the new unicorns are “magic, Mummy”
I really enjoy meeting other crafty people at fairs. Christmas fairs are my favourite. I love the atmosphere and warmth that comes with them.
What can we expect to find on your stall at So This is Christmas in aid of St Barnabas on Sunday 3rd December? And are you looking forward to taking part?
It’s Christmas! So I will have some Christmas Spice tree decorations on my stall. There will be a selection of calming lavender bags and rose and lavender scented sachets as well as a few cosy blankets and comfy cushions. I will have some unique Christmas (and other non-Christmas) cards (don’t forget your friends who have birthdays around Christmas!) and a range of both festive and non festive Tinny Tinies.
I am particularly looking forward to taking part in this fair and supporting this fantastic charity and the amazing work that they do.
Do you have a best seller?
Without a doubt it has been Tinny Tinies. They have consistently sold really well and I have had good feedback from my customers. Tinny Tinies are an adaptable gift as I can include personal messages with the adoption certificate (Get Well Soon messages, proposals, Birthdays, Congratulations..). They are easy to post and seem to appeal to both adults and children. They are also collectable!
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
The Tinny Tinies range is expanding! Since the original success of Elefriends in 2012, many more Tinny Tinies have followed; DinoSnores, Sleepy Sheep, Chilled Out Chicks, Bedhead Bunnies, Cosy Cats, Snoozy Snowmen, Penguin Pals.. This year Dreamy Unicorns have been born. I plan to continue expanding the range and see where it takes me.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
I don’t! Maybe I should think about that…
Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
Family. Cosy. Creative.
