Hi, I’m Alexandra, and after years of making and crafting as a hobby I decided to take the next step and l launched MegaLilyDesign in April 2016. Although the MegaLilyDesign brand is still very much evolving, handmade and creative hand drawn designs are at the heart of the brand, with every product individually made by me.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I make a slightly eclectic range of products – resin jewellery, greeting cards and paper butterfly artworks – based on a series of hand drawn designs which bring together the product range. My design style is vibrant and colourful with inspiration taken from nature, specifically flowers and butterflies. I have always loved illuminated art and use ink and leaf to illuminate my designs by hand.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I absolutely love drawing out new designs and seeing how they translate into new pieces of jewellery or cards. However resin pouring for the jewellery has to be the most enjoyable, if nerve wracking part of my work! Keeping a watch for bubbles and ensuring every piece sets to perfection!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Easter Special at Worthing Charmandean on April 9th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I’m really pleased to be taking part in my first Fairy Tale Fair, I loved selling at a few fairs last year and talking to buyers and hearing their feedback in person. My stall will feature a range of resin pendants and earrings, greeting cards and papercut butterflies. I’m really excited to bring some brand new products including rings and bracelets to feature on the stall for this this Easter Special Fairy Tale Fair!
Do you have a best seller?
Not really because no two products are identical, the best selling overall design last year was climber which happens to be the design that inspired me to start MegaLilyDesign!
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
