Please introduce yourself and your brand….
I’m Clare and I design textiles and make bags, home-wares and accessories.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
My designs start out as watercolour paintings which I turn into patterns to print on linen and linen blend fabrics. I combine these fabrics with leather, velvet and other materials to make each product and often can’t help but add some embroidery or a tassel to finish them off.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I enjoy every aspect of my work but I think the initial design creation, when I’m painting with my watercolours, is my absolute favourite – I always love this part!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Fringe Festival Special on Saturday 12th May at Brighton Open Market? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I am extremely excited to be taking part in the Fairy Tale Fair on 12 May and will be bringing along tote bags, clutch bags, cushion covers and luggage tags as well as some paper items including notebooks and greeting cards.
Do you have a best seller?
My clutch bags are my most popular product but it’s neck-and-neck between two of my designs so will be great to see what people like most in person.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
I have many big ideas and ambitions for the future of my creative business. For now I look forward to doing more fairs and getting to know customers and fellow makers.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
A favourite quote of mine is ‘Do what you love’ – I really think it’s important to fill our lives doing as much of what we love as we can!
