We are excited to welcome back A is for Alphabet and their wonderful handmade personalised frames! They will be selling with us on 6th December so don’t miss them!
Please introduce yourself and your brand…..
Hi I’m Mel and my brand is A is for Alphabet. I’ve been making children’s frames since March this year and it started off with the idea to create something special for my sons room. The reaction from friends and family was amazing so I started taking orders and here I am now!
Tell us a bit about your creations and how you make them…
I begin with a letter and object and sketch an outline of what I plan to create using felt. I then hand cut and sew it all together, using a colour scheme backing paper to pull it all together. Then I finish off the frame hand stamping the child’s details around it, including their date of birth, christening date etc.
How long have you been making your creations?
I started making frames in March but formed A is for Alphabet in May 2014.
Do you have a best seller or most popular item?
My most popular item is the personalised single letter frame. I make lots to celebrate the birth of a baby as it makes such a special unique gift and different than most new baby gifts on the high street!
What do you enjoy most about your craft/ work?
I love working with felt!! The colours are so vivid and it’s so rewarding making a frame for a child who I know will have it on their wall for years to come.
Will you be selling some festive themed creations at The Fairy Tale Fair?
I have lots of Christmas frames for sell which really capture the fun side of Christmas. They are perfect for displaying year after year. My favourite is S is for….Snowman.
What are your plans or ambitions for the future, or have you already achieved them?
I plan to grow my business over the next year, attending lots of fairs to spread the word and continue to deliver gorgeous frames!!!
Describe what Christmas means to you in 5 words or less!:
Family, Friends & Food!!
