Today we are pleased to welcome back Georgina of Dear Diary Vintage. She has previously joined us at Brighton Open Market but for the first time will join us at Patcham Methodist on Saturday 10th March. Find out more…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello, my name is Georgina and my brand is Dear diary vintage. Dear diary vintage is about remembering and unashamedly celebrating that 12 year old girl (or boy!) that lives within us all. The same girl who used to start each page of her diary entry using her best handwriting and fountain pen with Dear diary…
Here at Dear diary vintage we are proud of having a ‘Peter Pan complex’, after all what’s so great about growing up?
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I work mainly with wood, glitter, vintage illustrations and my Dymo machine creating jewellery and reminiscing about bygone days. My work is loved by children, teenagers and adults who simply refuse to give into growing up! Join me in a fairy tale land where there is always glitter, unicorns, mermaids and dinosaurs roam freely, cat ladies are celebrated and typewriters are still used.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
This will always be meeting my customers in person.I love seeing their reactions and smiles when customers pick up my work .If my creations can make people smile and bring a bit more happiness and magic to this world then I couldn’t ask for anything more!
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Easter Special at Patcham Methodist on Saturday March 10th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Lots of quirky and unique creations! I will also have some adorable bunny themed items too, after all it is Easter time so it’s the perfect excuse to sport a cute bunny themed brooch on your lapel.
Please pop over to my stall and say hello, we can discover Alice in Wonderland, cats, space, unicorns and many other treasures together. I’ve also tried to make my work accessible for all budgets even those on a pocket money budget will find something here as prices mainly range from £1.95-£10.
I can’t wait! I’m so excited I’ve only participated in Fairytale Christmas events so to be part of the Easter special is just amazing.
Do you have a best seller?
Well unicorns are definitely having a moment that’s for sure. When unicorns are combined with glitter its hard not to fall in love with these adorable brooches.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Be yourself everyone else is already taken.
What part of Easter do you enjoy the most?
I love Easter mainly just celebrating it with family and friends. I am also a huge chocoholic and I still participate in an Easter egg hunt. My mum was very inventive and one year stuffed chocolate mini eggs into the heads of daffodils they were pretty hard to find! You are never too old for an Easter egg hunt. After all why do kids get all the fun?
