Today we welcome JunaDesign for the first time. They and their unique jewellery will be part of our fair this Sunday October 25th at Brighton Open Market. Find out more…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Jewellery making has been my hobby since I was very young but I started JunaDesign only few years ago while researching ethical practices in fashion and jewellery making for my project at university when studying towards a marketing degree. It was a great inspiration and I started looking into environmentally friendly studio practices and ethical sourcing of precious metals. I only work with responsible suppliers and use mainly recycled sterling silver.
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I love letters and symbols and magic. My designs are inspired by ancient art and religious motifs; simple but distinctive. All my pieces are handmade and influenced by primitivism.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
Designing my own jewellery brings me a huge satisfaction and working in my own studio at my own pace is just amazing. I love making things and it really makes me happy to see others enjoying my creations.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton this October? And are you looking forward to taking part?
My collection of recycled sterling silver jewellery and some lovely bracelets and necklaces made of leather, beads and fabric.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
At the moment I am looking to find a new (and slightly bigger) studio as I am really struggling for space. On the creative side, I have recently started making hand bags using recycled materials and it seems that I am going to work on this with some great people! We should have the first batch out just before Christmas.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
Anything is possible if you really believe in it.
