Remind us about about you and what you create?
My names Georgie, during the day I teach a wide range of Fashion and textiles techniques at the college I work at, and in the evenings make my magical characters. Polka Dot Cloud was created from an accumulation of daydreams and make-believe stories. I create quirky little fabric creatures from remnants of fabrics; each one has a little personality of its own…
Will you be selling some special festive creations?
I have been working on some different types of ‘creatures’ and ‘things’ there’s been a little bit of a leopard print theme, with red…
Will you be taking part in any other fairs over the Christmas period?
I will also be taking part in The Big Brighton Fair and Bertie’s Fair in Worthing, so I am looking forward to those too!
You have previously taken part in The Fairy Tale Fair. Did you enjoy the day?
Yes I have, I loved it, its great fun. It has a great atmosphere and all the other stallholders are so so lovely! Its great to part of such a nice community.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
Well, I’ve started to explore the theme of sustainability more, and how one thing for example a garment can have a second life as a cuddly toy, which has become quiet exciting, I’ve been working on this piece of patchwork fabric from all the remnant of the toys I have been making, which is going to make the next batch of toys…who knows where that will end! It will be great to see how they are received on the stall on Saturday the 16th.
Sum up what Christmas is to you in 5 words or less!
Glitter! Tinsel! Hot water bottle! Family! Cinnamon!
Any other comments you wish to make:
I’m really looking forward to the fair, and Christmas, I absolutely love Christmas, and it’s my favorite time of year!
