Introducing… Child Friendly Brighton

Brighton, Events, Web DesignNo commentsJuly 17, 2014FTFadmin

Today we speak to Shoshana, owner of Child Friendly Brighton. Find out more about Brighton’s most popular parents website….

Hi Shoshana, we are a big fan of the Child Friendly Brighton website, please introduce yourself and your business to everyone….

I run a website called Child Friendly Brighton & Hove – which is a comprehensive on-line resource on everything that is child friendly in our wonderful city. The website lists everything from parent & baby groups, toddler & pre-school group activities, after school clubs, holiday clubs, swimming lessons, drama, party entertainers, local attractions, child friendly cafes & restaurants – the list goes on! It appeals to parents / carers living in and visiting Brighton as it has everything they need in one easy-to-use site (the ‘what’s on’ calendar of events is massively popular!). We also send out monthly / seasonal newsletters to ‘snap shot’ the best of new additions to the site, and highlights of not to be missed events and activities in Brighton & Hove.

How long has Child Friendly Brighton been established and how did the idea come about?

Child Friendly Brighton has been running for four years. I came up with the idea after I became quite frustrated not being to find out all the information I needed in one place. I could spend hours trying to plan for things to do with the kids / where to meet friends for lunch / clubs to sign my kids up for. So I started making a list, and that grew into a website, and it is now far bigger than I ever imagined it would be. We’ve grown the range of activities that we are involved in, so we now run competitions throughout the year, we review family friendly theatre shows, we have media partnerships, and work with fabulous organisations such as the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival and Brighton Fringe.

What is your favourite part about your job?

Without a doubt, its the fabulous feedback I receive from parents who use the website and find it to be such an invaluable resource to them. I get emails from complete strangers thanking me for doing this and telling me how much it has helped them keep their kids occupied – whether its finding things to do with the family over the weekend / holidays or finding a child friendly cafe to visit with friends, or finding a good holiday club. To hear my website described as “amazing” and “brilliant” by so many people, is such a boon.

Child Friendly Brighton has had great success, what can we expect in the future from you? Do you have any plans to expand or exciting projects?

Lots of exciting projects in the pipeline, but all I can say at the moment is.. watch this space!

The Fairy Tale Fair is looking forward to having Child Friendly Brighton as a sponsor, why did you choose to support us, and are you looking forward to our festive fairs?

I very much like the ethos of the Fairy Tale Fair, the fact that its all about craft and vintage things, and there is always something for the kids to do there. Its very imaginative. I think your festive fairs will be a great place to pick up some unusual treasures for Christmas presents!

Do you have a motto or inspirational thought of the day?!

Probably to have faith in your ideas, believe in yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask for help.

How can we find out more about you?
