Tell us a bit about Quick HR and your journey so far?
We’re all about people, working with all kinds of companies about everything to do with people and employment. Starting in 2012, we bounce around from factories to hotels, building sites to charities and all kinds of offices. Melissa and I love the variety and the challenge of working out ideas and solutions that fit the company we’re working with.
What do you enjoy most about owning Quick HR?
I’ve always loved working with all kinds of people and that was one of the key issues about setting up Quick HR, rather than being employed and only working with one kind of work place. Running a company also means you have to do a bit of everything, including marketing, finance and sales. Our work depends on what’s going on with the company or the person involved: whether they’re starting up, expanding, dealing with problems or going through changes. It’s means no two days are the same and I’m never bored.
What do you enjoy most about working in Brighton and all the creativity that there is to explore just outside your doorstep?
I love Brighton. I’ve lived here nearly all my adult life and just can’t imagine living anywhere else now. You meet all kinds of people here and that means we get to work with them too. We also get involved with community events and that gives us a bit of direct exposure to more creative activities, which is wonderful, and like anyone I make the most of the festivals and events around the city.

Absolutely! I’ll be there on the day, as a customer. I go to all the Fairy Tale Fairs and I’ve bought lots of things from the traders.

Nothing is impossible. I say it frequently.
