Please introduce yourself and tell us a bit about how Rosehip began…
Hello! We are two vintage-loving cooks and crafters, Emily Wade and Wendy Bell, and we both live in Lewes. We met through our young children being at the same nursery. One day while chatting in a cafe over tea and chocolate brownies it became clear that we both share a passion for food, flowers and styling. One thing (well, brownie) led to another (brownie) and from there we decided to create a bespoke vintage catering and event styling company together.
We relish every opportunity to be creative and dynamic. Our different styles of working are complementary and bring further dynamism to an already highly creative process. All of what we do is creative and that is what we love!
Yes! We will be at the Christmas Vintage Fair at Middle Farm – 23rd & 24th November, and the Artists and Makers fair in Lewes on 30th November, where we will be selling our homemade iced Christmas biscuits, homemade crafts and vintage wares.
Before all that we’ll be running a pop up cafe as part of ‘Carnivale Creative’ at the Lewes Town Hall on Thursday 5th December. Doors open at 5pm, as this is the Lewes’ Late Night shopping evening. Some vintage circus-themed delights we are planning include rainbow confetti cake and candyfloss topped cupcakes, as well as—of course!—moustache cookies on sticks. As well as the cafe there’ll be live music, stalls and various other acts. Another fun date for the diary!
We really look forward to seeing you at the Fairy Tale Fair; come over and try out our Pomegranate jewel cake (gluten free) or a slice of Italian chocolate and nut Christmas cake with whipped cream, or maybe a slice of Lime and pistachio cake (also gluten free). Or if you feel like something savoury, how about our hand-raised turkey, bacon and apricot pie or maybe our pea, tarragon and cream cheese pithivier. There will be plenty more on offer too.
Celebrate all that you treasure!
We are delighted to be part of the Fairy Tale Fair, do pop along and see us. We promise to delight your taste buds and provide you an enchanting festive experience.
