Today we catch up with Dear Diary Vintage who we look forward to welcoming back to Patcham Methodist this Saturday 17th November. Find out more about whats in store on their stall on the day…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
Hello, my name is Georgina and my brand is Dear diary vintage. Dear diary vintage is about remembering and unashamedly celebrating that 12 year old girl (or boy!) that lives within us all. The same girl who used to start each page of her diary entry using her best handwriting and fountain pen with Dear diary…
Here at Dear diary vintage we are proud of having a ‘Peter Pan complex’, after all what’s so great about growing up?
How would you describe your style and your creations?
I work mainly with wood, glitter, vintage illustrations creating quirky affordable jewellery that reminisces about bygone days. My work is loved by children, teenagers and adults who simply refuse to give into growing up! Join me in a fairy tale land where there is always glitter, unicorns and dinosaurs roam freely, cat ladies are celebrated and typewriters are still use.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
This hasn’t changed its still meeting my customers I love watching their reactions to my creations and the stories some of my jewellery invokes. My cat lady brooches have started many conversations about my customer’s cats and what mischief their cats have been up to. I also love the excitement that bubbles up inside me when a new jewellery creation comes perfectly together.
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Patcham on November 17th? And are you looking forward to taking part?
Lots of sparkles and glitter I’ve even created a ‘you sparkle box’ full of unique glittery lines! It’s the perfect stall to pick up a unique Christmas present/stocking fillers that will make you and your loved ones smile. Please pop over to my stall and say hello, we can discover Alice in Wonderland, flamingos, cacti, cats, space, unicorns and many other new creations I’ve been working on together. I’ve also tried to make my work accessible for all budgets even those on a pocket money budget will find something here as prices mainly range from £1.99-£10.
Fairytale Christmas Fair is such a brilliant event and I am proud to be part of it.It has an amazing and magical atmosphere and is more than a craft fair it’s a feast for eyes with so many independent handmade presents to stock up on, yummy cakes and treats to eat and always plenty of live music and activities to keep the kids entertained its a great morning/afternoon out for everyone.
Do you have a best seller?
It has to be a joint first place between my flamingo brooches and unicorn brooches.
Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?
‘Be yourself because everyone else is taken.’
Describe your Christmas in 3 words…
Love, Christmas decorations and magic. O.k maybe that’s more than three words but I just love everything about Christmas there is nothing better than than bringing your prized vintage Christmas decorations carefully down from the loft pouring yourself a generous mulled wine and decorating the tree with your loved ones.
