Today we wlecome HYDE WARES, who we’re excited will be returning to Brighton Open Market to sell with us on Saturday 12th May. Find out more about their handmade leather products…
Please introduce yourself and your brand….
My name is Jonathan Hyde, I make bespoke leather goods for men, women and our furry friends under the brand HYDE WARES. Using only the best full grain, vegetable tanned leather and no machines, each piece is designed and handmade in Brighton
How would you describe your style and your creations?
Hyde Wares was born from an urge to slow down, to design and make a range of leather items that would stand the test of time and grow with the owner. I was tired of buying and replacing items that were made cheaply and dishonestly. All designs are based around style and durability, with a focus on reducing waste and celebrating the raw material.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The process of designing and testing a product before making it available for sale. That great moment when you hold a wallet or belt in your hands and say “That is a great product and will last for years”
What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Fringe Festival Special on Saturday 12th May at Brighton Open Market? And are you looking forward to taking part?
I’ve really enjoyed the last 2 markets with the Fairy Tale Fair, and this time I’ll be revamping my display with several brand new items and as always a FREE personalisation service on all items.
Do you have a best seller?
My ‘folded’ wallets are proving to be a really popular gift idea as they are designed for both men and women.
Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?
Very soon I will begin running monthly workshops where you’ll be able to construct your own leather items, either for yourself or as a special gift. Everything will be provided, including coffee and snacks!
How can we find out more about you?
