Please introduce yourself and your brand….

My brand is RockCakes I set it up in Brighton in 2008 and have been building it slowly one handmade piece at a time!

How would you describe your style and your creations?

I make playful and fun jewellery from precious and more affordable materials, my aim is to spread a little happiness with my work.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

Being able to design and create what I want and make a living from it is super satisfying and feels a little self indulgent, I still have little moments of reality checks that I’m actually living the creative life I want. I work long hours and pretty much live and breathe what I do but it doesn’t feel like work, that makes me happy.

What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Christmas Special at Brighton Open Market on Sunday 26th November? And are you looking forward to taking part?

I will be bringing a broad cross section of my work, lots of my new Christmas inspired pieces such as the Grumpy Baubles and the Tupperware party. Also I will have my pin badges and precious classics such as the Birdking ring, hedgehog ring and every cloud bracelets 🙂

Do you have a best seller?

My hear and brain pins have been my best seller for a while but I have found that it is evening out now, the planet ring that I make has been pretty popular out of the precious work and the new fortune teller fish is proving to be popular out of my new work.

Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?

I can’t stop dreaming of more things that I want to make and about growing my business but I’m happy to play the long game and it is growing organically with time. I moved into my first studio space earlier this year and RockCakes will be 10 in February so I better do something to celebrate…!
