We first met Pomelo Crafts at our last Fairy Tale Fair, and we are lucky enough to have her and her wonderful, yet useful, creations back again.
“I absolutely love shopping for different fabrics and mixing and matching them together.” – Lynn, Pomelo Crafts
Remind us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
I’m Lynn and I live in Brighton will my husband and 2 little girls. My mum gave me her old sewing machine years ago so I used to dabble every now and again, but I started sewing more often a couple of years ago when I was on maternity leave. I started making things that I needed myself, then started making bits for friends and other people and it just spiraled from there. Now, I make lots of things from the lovely material I find – purses, kindle cases, iPad sleeves, phone cases, dribble bibs, fabric gifts bags. All very useful!
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?
It seems to change, but my coin purses are always popular.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
I absolutely love shopping for different fabrics and mixing and matching them together. I also only sew in my spare time as I have a different day job, so it’s just nice to get a bit creative in the evenings when the kids are in bed.
Do you take part in other craft events (fairs, open houses, markets etc…)?
I did several over Christmas last year and hope to do a few more local ones this summer.
What items and Mother’s day/ Easter gifts will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?
I’ve made a few make-up bags recently which would make a great Mother’s Day present. I’ve also got some fabric gift bags which would make a very pretty present filled with something nice – toiletries, cosmetics, chocolates. I’ll be bringing coin purses, iPad sleeves, kindle cases, dribble bibs, pencil case and phone cases too.
You took part in the last Fairy Tale Fair, did you enjoy it?
Yes, I loved it! There was such a lovely atmosphere and I met some great people. Sparkles Face Painting is always popular with my daughter as well.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future? Or have you already achieved them?
I keep saying I will set up an Etsy shop which I really hope to do this year. It would also be nice to take part in some more fairs in and around Brighton.
Any other comments you wish to make:
