In the first of our ‘Say Hello To…’ posts we say hello to the wonderful and unique Quaintrelle Anarchist!
“When someone from a far off country buys something from my shop because I find it surreal and amazing that someone on the other side of the world is wearing something I’ve created”– Quaintrelle Anarchist
Tell us a bit about you and what you do/ make….
I hand-make accessories and clothing, re-work vintage items and customise antique dolls.
How would you describe your style?
Creepy but cute! Inspired mainly by dolls, Alice in Wonderland and Halloween.
How long have you been making your craft items?
I’ve been crafting/sewing etc since I was a child and I opened my shop just under a year ago.
Do you have a best seller? If so what is it?
Any of the peter-pan collars I make- they go with any garment and are great for dressing up an outfit or adding a quirky touch.
What do you enjoy most about your craft?
I love realising the ideas I have for new items and also when someone from a far off country buys something from my shop because I find it surreal and amazing that someone on the other side of the world is wearing something I’ve created.
Do you take part in other craft events?
This is my first craft event actually! I haven’t done any before as I’m constantly travelling. I’m really excited to take part in this one and would love to do more in future.
What products/ items will you be selling at The Fairy Tale Fair?
I’ll be selling a wide variety of items such as hand-made accessories (peter-pan collars, hair accessories, jewellery etc),
re-worked vintage clothing, vintage accessories and customised antique dolls so I hope there’s something for everyone.
What are your plans/ ambitions for the future?
I’d love to keep creating more! I’m currently at University so after I graduate I’d love to expand my shop. I want to start making dolls from scratch and make more clothing. I also love travelling for inspiration so hopefully more of that too.
Any other comments you wish to make:
I think the fair is going to be an amazing, fun day and I can’t wait to meet everyone who attends and the other stall holders whose work looks incredible.
We can’t wait to meet Quaintrelle Anarchist either! Her creations are going to be wonderful and the fair and couldn’t suit the Fairy Tale theme more!
