Say Hello to… Victoria Sol

JewelleryNo commentsNovember 3, 2015FTFadmin

Today we welcome Victoria Sol, who will be selling with us on Noember 15th at Brighton Open Market, find out more about her…

Please introduce yourself and your brand….

Hello, I’m Victoria Sol! I’m a Coffee addict, mildly eccentric and a crazy cat lady in training. Oh, and I make jewellery!

My little business is called Victoria Sol Jewellery, and I sell chainmaille jewellery and accessories. Chainmaille is exactly what it sounds like – metal rings of various sizes woven together to make chains, sheets and, yes, armour! I stick with the smaller items; anything from bracelets and necklaces to keyrings and pouches.

How would you describe your style and your creations?

My style can be described as modern with a traditional feel. Some of the chainmaille weaves I use are so old that no one knows who invented them, while others have been discovered in the last decade. My creations are unusual, sometimes eye-catching and always interesting. The patterns in the chains make a nice change from machine made products.

What do you enjoy most about your work?

I love, treasure and adore making chainmaille! I put together my chains and creations one ring at a time, and although it’s time consuming work, the minutes and hours just fly by. It’s almost meditative and I can get completely lost in a good project.

What can we expect to find on your stall at The Fairy Tale Fair Brighton this November? And are you looking forward to taking part?

I am so excited to take part in the Fairy Tale Fair at the Open Market that I can’t even put it into words! I am also terrified that I won’t be ready in time, although I know I’m just being silly. I am currently weaving metal rings for my dear life, trying to have as many different and exciting things available as humanly possible.

You can expect to find flower pendants, guitar pick pendants, chain necklaces, chokers, earrings, a million different bracelets for adults and children alike, and enough keyrings to feed Mars! (That is if Martians would eat keyrings, of course.) I use both colours and monochrome metals, so regardless of what your personal style is, I’m sure I’ll have something for you. 🙂

Do you have any plans or ambitions for the future?

Sooner or later I will take over the world! …Maybe.

Do you have a motto or inspirational quote?

“Don’t tell me the sky is the limit when there are footprints on the moon.”

I like a lot of inspirational quotes, as cheesy as they are, but this one really speaks to me. I will accept no artifical limitations in my work and business.

How can we find out more about you?

I’m all over the web! The easiest way to find me is to go to my main website and follow the links from there:

I’m also on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Etsy, Amazon.com and probably other places I’ve forgotten about! You can find links to all of these pages on my website.
